Weather and Tides
Why are moon phases useful? Spring tides occur during, or a few days after, the full and new moons. Neap tides occur during, or a few days after, the quarter moons.

Bits & Bobs
- Lochinver - the slip at Lochinver can be used 1.5 hours either side of high tide, take a rope because of the angle.
Ullapool Sub Aqua Club are very helpful and know all the dive sites in the area. Contact details for Lochinver harbour master are on the Highland Council website, along with details for other harbours in the area. The Lochinver Larder makes the best pies in Scotland and a visit is compulsory, you can even get fresh pies delivered home!
